property description:  The perfect romantic and honeymoon retreat. Superb holiday accommodation for two or more couples travelling together. The ideal family holiday cottage.

There is only one guest cottage at Olive Hill Farm. This classic Australian farmhouse, first built in 1922, has been beautifully restored with attention to retaining its original character.

Guests will enjoy acres of private, magic gardens and grounds around the cottage, alive with native birds and animals. Kangaroos, quendas, [brown bandicoots] and numerous species of exquisite birds are abundant.

Heritage varieties of grape and mulberry are ripe for the picking in season.

Breakfast or an evening sundowner or supper on the back verandah is a special experience.

The river front is a haven for many wetland species, and guests are welcome to picnic under the superb old growth trees, or in our riverside gazebo.

We are a Land for Wildlife property and have a passion for the flora and fauna of the Margaret River region, and Western Australia.


The holiday cottage and garden is set in our 15 acre olive grove, on 145 acres of farmland that is on the banks of the Margaret River.

We produce and sell extra-virgin olive oil from our grove, under the Olive Hill Farm label. No pesticides are used in our grove or on our farm, and no chemical fertilizers are used on our olives.




location:  The Margaret River region is world renowned as a superb holiday and vacation destination, famous for its wineries, food and restaurants, spectacular beaches and surfing, rugged coasts and towering hardwood forests, ancient caves, moderate, comfortable, mediterranean climate and relaxed lifestyle.

Olive Hill Farm, is a very convenient and pretty 12 kms from Margaret River town, through the Bramley National Park, and into the picturesque vineyards, farmland and forest of the undulating Margaret River valley and Whicher Range foothills..

Close to us, west, north and south, are the wonderful beaches, limestone coast, and Leeuwin Naturaliste National Park.
Immediately on our east is the uniquely beautiful Rapids Conservation Park, Cane Break Pool, and the uniquely forested Whicher Ranges. This is an area of great biodiversity and rich flora.

On our south boundary is the Margaret River.



Margaret River is 300 km south-west of Perth, about a 3 hour drive, and is accessible by excellent roads, bus or plane. The two main highways to Margaret River, are The Coast Road [Highway 1],and the South Western Highway, or inland route. The Coast Rd [H'way1] is an easier and faster route, being virtually all double lane divided road, and connects to the major Perth freeway south, the Kwinana Freeway.You will pass the coastal towns of Mandurah [1 hour from Perth], Bunbury [two hours from Perth], and Busselton [two and a half hours from Perth], any of which offer many options for lunch or dinner breaks. You will need to take a detour to visit the towns, as the highway bypasses all the town centres.

pricing:  Our holiday rental rates include all linen and amenities, as well as many extra touches you'll appreciate, such as fresh milk, complimentary local phone calls, garden-fresh flowers in the cottage, and a crackling fire set ready, or already burning in the winter.

The cottage is fully self-contained and equipped with all you need for a self-catering holiday, but for your convenience breakfast baskets can be arranged and delivered to the cottage ready for your arrival, from $12.50 per person.
Cot, including linen, and highchair available on request , no charge. Please book these before arrival.
Two nights minimum stay at all times.

Rack rate:

Honeymooner's Special: 3 nights including champagne, fresh flowers, chocolates on arrival and a complimentary bottle of our premium olive oil with fresh crusty bread.
All this and all the privacy you could desire, only $585 cple.

Peak season:
Xmas week/Easter minimum: $250 per night for up to 4 people.
7-15th Jan, Public Holidays: $200 per night/couple $25 pn per extra adult, $20 pn per extra child. [includes cot/highchair]
Minimum stays apply seasonally, 3 night minimum long weekends.

A deposit is required within 24hrs to confirm your booking, unless otherwise arranged.

Please note nightly rate is based on couple share. If an extra bedroom is required a $15 linen charge is applicable per stay only.

CANCELLATION: As we have only the one cottage, deposits will be refunded, excluding booking fee of $35, provided that a minimum of 4 weeks notice is given. If notice is from 28-7 days prior, and the cottage is rebooked for that time, the deposit will be refunded, less booking fee. Less than 7 days notice will incur the loss of deposit, and the full cost is payable for less than 48hrs notice, or if no notice is given of non-arrival. Once a stay has commenced, the full amount is payable and will not be able to be refunded if you have to cut short your stay.
For peak periods of Xmas-New Year, and Easter, no refund is available, and the full balance is payable for cancellation less than 4 weeks from booking date.
