nausica house

property description : Walk down the hill to the village of Kavalaraina and you will immediately feel that the village has not changed much from the 1920's. The setting is peaceful, even more so of this little cottage which is tucked away and barely seen, even from the centre of the village. Enter the cottage and the feeling of space is surprising. The skylight of the sitting area makes the room bright. The high-ceiling bedroom gives the guests space & comfort.

Nausica house is a rare opportunity to experience real village life in such close proximity to the sea. The original stone oven (ognistra), the original chest of drawers, the crockery cabinet on the wall, the built-in sofas & bed all give a bit of the history & offer sufficient comfort.

The second (lower) level of the cottage used to be a storeroom for olives & oil. It is now a converted kitchen & bathroom, leading to a terrace with small sitting area, which is shaded by the original house's lemon & vine trees.

Like the rest of the village, the views to Agni are interrupted. The cottage’s fuchsia bougainvillea offers a bright contrast to the ocean blue. The cottage is only 400m walk from Agni bay & is an ideal residence for couples wishing to explore the north east of Corfu & in particular walkers. Due to the hilly nature of the area, the cottage is not suited to the less mobile.

Our change over day is usually Monday,  however we will accept bookings during other days.

We are trying to keep on top of all environmentally friendly procedures available in Greece, we are trying to save on water (and are about to buy gadgets that will show clients how much water they have used), we give instructions to our clients on how to save on electricity, especially in old renovated properties like ours. We are recycling our waste, which is something introduced in Corfu last year.

On top of that: we employ local people & we train them to be as professional as we are. We recommend places which produce biological products & promote the local traditions, such as all Roggia farm products.
