secluded woodsman's cabin, situated on the bank of it's own
little lake, within six acres of mature woodland provides
the perfect antidote to the stresses of busy, modern-day
life.
Providing comfortable accommodation for two, it has
the look and feel of a pioneer's cabin whilst still
providing today's necessary comforts.
The cabin is 'off-grid', so lighting is provided by a
combination of candles, oil lamps, solar and wind-up lights.
It has a fully equipped kitchen with gas cooker and
fridge, and is kept toasty warm in winter by the wood burning
stove, which also heats the water for the outside shower/wc.

holiday courses are of one week duration - arrivals are on a

roche - Laroche,
once a small farm on the estate of an 18th century château,
is surrounded by 5 acres of garden, woodland and meadows.
Walk or cycle through a peaceful landscape of varied
countryside of hill and valley, chestnut and oak woods and
small farms. Nearby Brantôme has a beautiful riverside
setting and many cafés and restaurants. Villars, the next
village, has interesting caves and a Renaissance château. Périgueux,
the Préfecture of the Dordogne, is 30 minutes drive away
and has a finely restored and lively old town.

Paulianne:
the farm - Paulianne is an 89 hectare organic
farm bordering the River Drôme in the Pre-Alps of SE
France. The farmhouse itself stands on a Roman site that was
dedicated to Mercury, with connections going back to the
pre-Roman Andarta bear worshipping tradition. The old Roman
road from Lyon to Milan runs through the farm and past the
house. It is now a simple farm track from one field to
another, having fallen into disuse when half a mountain -
the Pic de Luc - fell into the valley in 1442, blocking the
route and creating a 15km long lake that submerged the old
route for nearly 300 years. There is an ongoing dispute
among historians as to whether Hannibal led his elephants
and an army of 30,000 soldiers to Italy via the valley of
the Drôme or the Isere.

farm at the end of a small mountain road at 860 m elevation.
Surrounded by woods and fields, Le Paquetayre enjoys an
impressive view of the famous Cathar chateau of Montségur
atop its lonely "pog".

hr. drive from the cities of Toulouse and Carcassonne whilst
Andorra and the Mediterranean are only 1 1/2 hrs. away.

A haven for vegetarians,
vegans and lovers of good food in the heart of picturesque
Normandy La Maison du Vert is a vegetarian guesthouse and
restaurant specialising in delicious innovative vegetarian
cuisine from around the world. La Maison du Vert was
established in 1991 but in 2000/2001 it was refurbished by
Debbie and Daniel the new owners.
